In this edition of my DVCon India 2015 countdown, I am glad to bring views from an active DV evangelist, Dr. Mike Bartley, Founder T&VS based out of UK. As someone who has a deep understanding of this domain and the geography Mike has shared good amount of details on our questionnaire. Mike has also served in this year’s DVCon Technical Program Committee (DV-TPC) to shortlist the papers and posters. I will bring this in two parts to make it interesting and useful for our readers.
[VN] Can you share your experience with DVCon in general please?
[MB] I have been involved in DVCon for a number of years. Initially in the US as both speaker and attendee but more recently on the Technical program Committee (TPC) for both Europe and India. My experience has always been very positive both from a technical and a networking perspective. I have always been impressed technically with the papers and, now, working on the TPC I can see why. The selection and review procedures are extremely thorough. The conferences are also always well attended which gives me the chance to meet and discuss with like-minded engineers and managers – both old and new friends!
[VN] What are your thoughts on DVCon-India?
[MB] DVCon India has quickly established itself as a major conference in India both through the numbers attending and the quality of the papers building on the global success of DVCon.
[VN] What would like to see/add to DVCon-India?
[MB] I would like to see DVCon India establish its own identity fairly quickly – dealing with the design and verification issues, concerns and opportunities that are particular to the Indian market.
[VN] Will you be attending DVCon India 2015?
[MB] I will definitely be there. I am sitting on a panel to discuss “Supporting the Evolving Verification Flow” with Lauro Rizzatti and Sanjay Gupta of Mentor Graphics. Also, my company T&VS is presenting a paper on AMS verification so I’ll be attending that too.
To be continued in Part-II..
