Listen to Mr. Louie De Luna, Director of Marketing at Aldec Inc. USA on his views on upcoming DVCon India 2016. As some of our readers are familiar by now, Aldec has been conducting series of webinars and seminars on the DV space for many years now. Aldec is also hosting 2 separate seminars early Sep 2016 in Bangalore, India on the topic of “Hardware Assisted Verification” and DO-254. Links for that seminar can be found at: Hardware-Assisted Verification – Free Seminar Bangalore
We are glad to bring our next issue of this popular DVCon countdown series with Louie! Below is a brief chat with Mr. Louie De Luna (LD),t hat our VerifNews (VN) team recently held:
[VN] Can you share your experience with DVCon in general please?
[VN] Have you been following DVCon India and also the countdown series? Your observations can be shared here.
[LD] I usually participate at DVCon USA as an attendee and exhibitor. I certainly enjoy the Q&A parts of the panel discussions. The questions and panel responses have always provided me a good pulse of the verification challenges and solution trends.
[LD] Yes. The Q&A format with other participants is quite informative. Seeing DVCon India from another perspective is quite beneficial[VN] What would you like to see/add to DVCon-India?
[VN] Will you be attending DVCon India 2016?
[LD] I have been closely following emulation trends and recent developments, so I would like to see presentations about the benefits of using FPGA-based prototyping boards for emulation. Also it would be interesting to see a hybrid emulation/prototyping solution where some modules are running on emulation speed (for better visibility) concurrently with some modules running on prototyping speed (for faster speed).
[LD] Unfortunately not. We have other commitments to attend to in India this year.[VN] How do you find the Design-Verification community in India?
[VN] What are your views on this year and next year growth about semiconductor industry? India in particular?
[LD] There are a lot of talented and creative engineers in India that will play a key role as we advance technologically in the semiconductor industry.
[LD] We are now on the verge of a new technological revolution after the internet and mobile phones. The era of IoT, big data, cloud, and autonomous cars is coming and will present the semiconductor industry with new design and verification challenges. I’m hopeful that this year and the next we will see new startups come into play to solve difficult problems. India’s home-grown expertise in SoC design/verification and the amount of talented new engineering grads in India is likely to play a key role in this new era.
[VN] Thank you very much for speaking with us Louie. We wish you great success with your upcoming seminars in Bangalore!
