DVCon India is being organized for third year in a row. It has been made possible thanks to some dedicated hard-work by passionate leaders in this industry. One of the key members of DVCon India team since 2014 is Anupam Bakshi, CEO at Agnisys, an EDA company focusing on executable specifications, automated code generation and more. We are glad to bring our next issue of this popular DVCon countdown series with Anupam.

Counting Down To DVCon India

Below is a brief chat with Anupam Bakshi (AB) that our VerifNews (VN) team recently held:

[VN] Can you share your experience with DVCon in general please?

[AB] I have been involved with DVCon India since its inception in 2014. This year I’m responsible for the promotion of the show. It has been a real pleasure to see it grow from a small sapling to an established conference now.

[VN] Have you been following DVCon India and also the countdown series? Your observations can be shared here.

[AB] DVCon India meets the latent needs of the local India semi-EDA community. Not everyone can travel to US for the DVCon in San Jose. I’m looking forward to seeing it grow to a point where people from all over the world are eager to come and attend it! Yes I have been following the CVC/VerifNews Countdown series, its like the drum-roll to this big event that heightens the anticipation of the community. So keep it up, you are doing a great service for the growth of local eco-system.

[VN] Thanks for your kind words Anupam. It is these encouraging words that motivates our team to do this time and again.

[VN] What would like to see/add to DVCon-India?

[AB] Content, Content, Content. I think the level of content has been constantly improving, and over the years I will like to see more innovation from Indian DV community.

[VN] Will you be attending DVCon India 2016?
[AB] Yes, most probably!
[VN] How do you find the Design-Verification community in India?

[AB] I think the DV community in India is very enthusiastic about new technology. There is so much competition that it only makes sense to get ahead and differentiate yourself by learning new techniques and methodologies. UVM and Portable Stimulus which have seen slow adoption elsewhere in the word have seen a fast growth in India. I expect this to continue in the future as well.

[VN] What are your views on this year and next year growth about semiconductor industry? India in particular?

[AB] Although the global semiconductor industry is going thru some upheaval, I feel this phase will only last till the end of 2016 and there will be a renewed optimism in the industry. India is largely buffered from the global industry but there will be subdued impact on the India semiconductor and EDA industry.
